GENERAL BAPTIST STATE CONVENTION OF NORTH CAROLINA, INC.
The State Congress of Christian Education Auxiliary serves as the teaching and training
arm for the Churches of the General Baptist State Convention. Established in 1987,
the present Congress results from the merger of the State Sunday School Convention
(founded in 1887) and the State Baptist Training Union (founded in 1900).
The Congress has a comprehensive program including:
Annual Session attracting more than 1,200 persons from across the state for more
than 30 classes
Participation in the NBCUSA Congress of Christian Education
Annual J. F. Wertz Oratorical Conference from which a state contestant is selected
to participate on the national level
Providing comprehensive training workshops in local Churches and Associations throughout
Raising funds for the missions objectives of the General Baptist State Convention
of North Carolina
